Social Media Strategy

Why do you want to use Social Media?

It's a deceptive question! It looks really simple until you start looking beyond the quick and easy response of "because everyone else is"!

What do you want Social Media to do for you?

This is not an easy question to answer either. Do you just want to broadcast "at" people because you think it will increase your SEO? (it won't!) Is your priority more sales, good PR, customer engagment, after sales service, member retention, information dissemination, raised brand awareness...? Does your strategy for your Twitter feed fit with your market segmentation analysis? And so on...

In reality, a strategy can be short, sweet and very effective. Being clear on why you want to use social media, what you want to get out of it and how you will test whether or not you're achieving your aims is an important part of staying focussed. It also helps inform what variety of social media sites and techniques will be best for you and your business.

Even if you don't ask me to help you, please have a go at writing a brief outline of what your strategy is. It really does help!

I can also assist you in crafting additions to your Personnel Policies to address the new phenomenon of Social Media in the workplace.
